Services

Turning Point Psychology Center, Inc. is a fully virtual practice. Care is delivered by telehealth across California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New York, and Virginia. Our Collaborative Care model means a carefully matched clinician works with you while the clinical leadership stays involved at intake and treatment planning.

How to start

General individual, couples, and family therapy referrals go to our associate clinicians. For the fastest match, request an appointment with any clinician in the group through our secure client portal. Other associates and trainees with openings are listed on our Meet the Team page and on the homepage.

Dr. Melissa Stolsig, Psy.D., completes the initial appointment with every new client. After that first visit, follow-up care continues with a well-matched associate clinician under our Collaborative Care model.

All associate clinicians and health care students are clinically supervised. California associates are supervised by Dr. Melissa Stolsig, Psy.D. (CA PSY30738) and, when listed on Meet the Team, also by Ms. Eileen Joy Esporo, LCSW (CA LCSW71415). Health care students practice under Dr. Melissa Stolsig’s supervision using her license for the client’s state (CA PSY30738; NY 025532; CO PSY.0005510; FL TPPY1024; NV PY1137; VA 0810008494).

Ms. Eileen Joy Esporo, MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CA LCSW71415), accepts new individual clients who are licensed providers or behavioral health graduate students, or clients seen by the graduate student staff she supervises. She is not available for general therapy referrals.

Trauma-focused therapies

Our clinicians offer several evidence-based treatments for PTSD and other trauma-related concerns. The right fit depends on your history, goals, and which modalities your clinician is trained to deliver.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is a structured, evidence-based treatment for PTSD that helps people examine stuck points—beliefs about the trauma, themselves, and the world—that keep recovery from moving forward. Sessions are time-limited and skills-focused.

Prolonged Exposure (PE)

PE helps people gradually approach trauma-related memories and safe situations they have been avoiding. The goal is to reduce the power of fear and avoidance so daily life can open back up.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy for PTSD and trauma-related distress. In EMDR sessions, a clinician guides you to briefly revisit difficult memories while using bilateral stimulation—often eye movements, taps, or tones—so the nervous system can reprocess what has stayed “stuck.” Many people notice that the memory becomes less vivid and less activating, while more adaptive beliefs about safety, worth, and the present take hold. EMDR is widely used for single-incident trauma, complex or developmental trauma, panic linked to past events, and other experiences that keep the body and mind on high alert long after the danger has passed.

Dr. Melissa Stolsig is an EMDR-trained provider listed in the EMDRIA directory. You can view her listing here: Melissa Stolsig on EMDRIA’s Find an EMDR Therapist.

Written Exposure Therapy (WET)

Written Exposure Therapy is a brief, evidence-based treatment for PTSD that uses guided writing about the trauma across a small number of sessions. By putting the story into words in a structured way, WET helps reduce avoidance and the intensity of trauma-related thoughts and feelings without requiring extended in-session imaginal exposure. It can be a strong option when a shorter course of care is clinically appropriate.
